Vehicle sticker renewal applications were mailed in late-July, marking the beginning of sticker sales for 2020-2021 in the Village of Roselle. Village Ordinance requires that every owner or operator of a motor vehicle (car, truck, motorcycle, and trailer) who resides within the Village or whose motor vehicle is based within the Village must obtain a Roselle vehicle sticker. The cost of vehicle stickers for passenger automobiles and trucks with B plates is $45.
The new deadline to purchase vehicle stickers is September 30, 2020. All 2019-2020 stickers remain valid through September 30, 2020, even though the expiration date is listed as 5/31/2020. Failure to receive a pre-printed application does not exempt any individual from purchasing stickers by the September 30 deadline. Application forms are available for download from the Vehicle Stickers page.
The Village’s Finance Department is urging all residents to use the return envelope included with the vehicle sticker application, either by mail or by dropping it in the Village payment box in front of Village Hall. While in the past some residents have preferred purchasing the stickers in person at Village Hall, for this year it is easier and safer to do so by mail or online at www.roselle.il.us/payments.
The vehicle sticker program was delayed by several months this year, first by Executive Order of the Mayor, and then by the Village Board, to defer payment for residents whose incomes have been negatively affected by the COVID-19 crisis, and to push out the time frame for the reopening of Village Hall to the public.
