As part of an effort to keep cooking oil out of the Village's sewer pipes, the Village of Roselle is partnering with DuPage County, SCARCE, and Green Grease Environmental to host a post-Thanksgiving cooking oil recycling event. Residents can bring used liquid cooking oil in milk jugs, buckets, or the container that the oil originally came in to the recycling event Saturday, November 30 in the Roselle Police Station parking lot, 103 S. Prospect St., between 9:00 a.m. and noon. Cooking oil causes clogs and breaks that are costly for homeowners and Villages to fix. Additionally, excess grease can interfere with water treatment at the Village's sanitary facilities. While area restaurants have grease disposal measures to keep grease out of the water sanitation system, residents typically do not. For more information please visit the SCARCE website or call the Village Clerk's office at (630) 671-2802.
