[ARCHIVED] Village Board Approves Business District Feasibility Study for Amperage Electrical Supply

amperage

Amperage Electrical Supply, located along Irving Park Rd. on the west end of Roselle, is undertaking an aggressive expansion plan for their business and has requested assistance from the Village to help foster the redevelopment on their property. The Village Board approved a feasibility study on November 9 to determine if the property is eligible for the creation of a Business District.

A Business District is an economic development tool that promotes redevelopment by allowing the owner of a property to self-impose an added sales tax, up to 1 percent. The funds from the added tax are funneled back into the site for redevelopment projects for the 23-year duration of the Business District. A positive element of this tool is that it does not impact any of the other taxing bodies in Roselle.

A report on the feasibility study for the Business District at Amperage Electric was presented to the Village Board in January.
